We are currently seeking a Junior Designer who will report directly to the President. This is a great opportunity to learn from the Design Director and President and get exposure to different aspects of a project.
The ideal candidate will be detail oriented and will have experience in the custom cabinet and millwork industry or furniture background along with experience in AutoCAD and design drawings.
Knowledge & Experience
- Proficiency in English
- Hands-on experience with computer-aided design (CAD) software
- Proven work experience as a Designer, Drafter or similar role
- Post-secondary education in Computer Aided Drafting / Design
- Experience and/or knowledge of Kitchen Cabinetry is required.
- Basics of Project Management to proactively understand the needs of a client.
- Proficient in reading and understanding architectural drawings and specifications.
- Proficient in MS Office programs.

- Ability to work with limited supervision in accordance with established drafting protocols
- Self-motivated, decisive, responsible and capable of working under stressful condition
- Ability to deal with highly sensitive and confidential material
- Ability to produce accurate work with attention to detail in a timely manner

- Able to manage time and multi-task to accomplish a multitude of tasks, with conflicting priorities and timelines
- Ability to assess workload, prioritize tasks, communicate with Senior Designer about design status, and ability to meet deadlines.
- Positive attitude and an ability to learn quickly.
Responsibilities & Accountabilities
- Interprets and carries out creative ideas proposed by the Presdient
- Follow company standards and procedures including reviewing and revising drawings.
- You will assist with different aspects of a project, from preparing the President for meetings with clients, assisting with preparation of design drawings, helping upload drawings and relevant paperwork into our software. You will occassionally attend client meetings.
- You will assist with helping identify and prepare boards (Handles) for each project
- Participate in Design meetings, prepare and discuss notes with the President.
- Work with the President to resolve design problems, discuss project criteria, and facilitate smooth project coordination between internal and external teams
- Revise drawings as required
- Keeping project documents updated real time
Working Conditions
- Fast-paced design-build production environment
- Monday-Friday 8:30 am- 5:30 pm, including occasional Evenings & Saturdays
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $43,000.00-$45,000.00 per year
