Accountant – Construction & System Integration (Zoho & QuickBooks)

About Us:
Valley Integration Inc. is a growing Canadian system integration and construction services firm specializing in automation, SCADA, and PLC programming for water and wastewater infrastructure. As part of our continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Accountant to support our expanding financial operations and project accounting requirements.
Position Summary:
The Accountant will play a key role in managing daily accounting functions, job cost tracking, subcontractor payments, and project-based financial reporting. The role requires hands-on experience with Zoho Books, Zoho Projects, and QuickBooks desktop, along with a strong understanding of Canadian construction accounting standards, tax compliance, and financial controls.
Key Responsibilities:
· Manage the general ledger, journal entries, and month-end close processes
· Track project budgets, job costing, and actuals across multiple construction and integration projects
· Process accounts payable and receivable, including subcontractor and supplier invoicing
· Prepare progress draw billings, retainage tracking, and AIA-format invoices when required
· Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and vendor statements regularly
· Ensure compliance with CRA, including HST remittance, WSIB reporting, T4 preparation, and payroll submissions
· Coordinate with project managers to align financial reporting with project milestones and schedules
· Assist in payroll processing for office and field staff
· Maintain accurate records and digital documentation in Zoho Books, QuickBooks Online, and internal file systems
· Prepare cash flow projections, financial reports, and analysis for leadership review
· Support year-end closing and liaise with external accountants during audits
· Help enforce financial policies and procedures to ensure compliance and accuracy
Required Qualifications:
· Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business
· Minimum 3 years of accounting experience, preferably in the construction or engineering sector
· Proficiency with Zoho Books, Zoho Projects, and QuickBooks Desktop
· Strong knowledge of Canadian accounting standards, tax rules, and construction project billing
· Experience with job costing, project tracking, and budget variance analysis
· Strong Excel and data management skills
· Excellent organizational and communication skills
· Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
Preferred Qualifications:
· Experience working with municipal or infrastructure projects
· Familiarity with AIA-style billing and contract administration
· Working knowledge of CRA regulations, WSIB, and construction industry compliance
· Progress toward or completion of the CPA designation is an asset

Pay: $50,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
