Night Duties:
Ø Complete additional checks on students as needed or directed by Supervisor or Director
Ø Complete necessary cleaning of common living spaces as per night shift duty log and/or as needed
Ø Complete meal preparation
- i.e.) defrosting of meat, snacks, hot breakfasts,
Ø Complete filing and data entry by assigned night data entry personnel
Ø Complete other duties assigned by supervisor
Parent Role:
Ø Care & comfort sick youth in personal and caring way in order to create a warm
and caring atmosphere
Ø Provide for daily needs of youth, (i.e. hot breakfasts, nutritional snacks, etc.)
Ø Provide for the medical needs of a youth
Ø Dispense medication to youth after completing Medication Administration Training
Ø Utilize de-escalation techniques with youth who are displaying high-risk/defiant behavior.
Ø Provide logical consequences and allow for natural consequences
Maintain Group Home Property:
Ø Report group home damages or repair needs to supervisor or director
Ø Ensure safety and security is not breached by putting away all items declared a risk.
Observe & Record:
Ø Record observations of unusual sleep patterns/behaviors accurately and concisely
Ø Documented checks of at least 1-hour intervals on all students; in night log.
Ø Complete and process unusual occurrence reports as per policy
Ø Ensure all relevant information is passed on through shift change
Ø Complete security checks as per policy
Orientation, Training & Team Building:
Ø Participate in regular team meetings
Ø When required carry out supervisory tasks
Function as a Team Member & Professional:
Ø Follow the Child and Youth Care Association of Alberta code of ethics
Ø Be punctual for work and meetings
Ø Give and receive feedback assertively
Ø Participate in shift planning, team planning, and staff meetings
Ø Work with other professionals in a respectful and courteous manner
Ø Conduct self in a professional manner when carrying out duties
Ø Communicate dissatisfaction, complaints, concerns to appropriate person in an
appropriate manner
Ø Dress appropriately
Ø Assist in developing and maintaining positive attitude towards the program in the
community
Ø Attend workshops as necessary
Ø Provide feedback to maintain policy manual
*Night staff will be required to follow and meet the expectations for daily cleaning, meal preparation, and other duties as per management direction.

Pay: $21.44-$25.00 per hour
