LOCATION: Cambridge Bay, Nunavut

PURPOSE
Operate Rubber Tire Loaders and Track Excavators (Various Sizes) trenching waterlines, loading trucks, etc.
Scope:
The Excavator Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the equipment. They will also ensure that accurate and timely information regarding supplies, tools and time are provided and recorded as required.
Skills & Knowledge:
The Excavator Operator is required to:
- operate as a team member in a cross cultural work environment.
- follow all required safety procedures.
- Has experience operating a 90 Kubota, 160 JD, 210 JD, 330 CAT, 350 JD
The Loader Operator performs a wide range of duties as follows:
- Operates assigned loaders doing various tasks in a safe manner.
- Has experience operating a 544 Loader, 644 Loader, 972 CAT Loader with multiple attachments.
- Handling materials with forks and buckets.
- Unloading and loading airplanes would be an asset.
- Work well independently
- Practices good housekeeping to keep the workplace clean and orderly.
- Other related duties as required.·
- Valid driver’s license.
Experience:
- 3 years experience operating an excavator or loader would be preferred.
- Digging trenches for electrical wires would be an asset.
WORKING CONDITIONS
The successful candidate will be expected to work 10 – 12 hour shifts while on site, on a rotational basis of 6 weeks in and 2 weeks out, with the option of staying longer if preferred.
Camp accommodation and transportation are provided.
Wages and benefits will be based on experience.
Some heavy lifting may be required.
