Lawson Lundell LLP is seeking an Administrative Assistant to join our Yellowknife office. The successful candidate is an enthusiastic and hardworking team player who is capable of prioritizing and multitasking to successfully support our Yellowknife team. The regular working hours for this role are Monday – Friday, 8:30 am – 4:30 pm.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide administrative support to lawyers and legal professionals, including managing calendars, scheduling meetings, coordinating travel, and supporting day-to-day practice needs.
- Prepare, revise, format, and proofread correspondence, legal documents, and court filings.
- Manage electronic and physical files, maintain bring-forward systems, and organize client records.
- Enter time, assist with billing, prepare expense reports, and support other administrative processes.
- Coordinate communications with lawyers, clients, courts, legal assistants, paralegals, and external service providers to facilitate the progression of files.
- Complete bank deposits, courthouse filings, and other external errands required to support legal matters.
- Coordinate meetings, book boardrooms, arrange catering, and assist with other meeting logistics as required.
- Provide backup administrative support to colleagues and assist with reception coverage, special projects, and other office initiatives as required.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of administrative experience in a professional services or legal environment; legal experience is an asset.
- Administrative Assistant certificate or post-secondary education in office administration is preferred.
- Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize competing deadlines and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications; experience with legal software and document management systems is an asset.
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills with a professional and collaborative approach.
- Reliable, proactive, and able to work independently while contributing effectively to a team.
- Ability to safely lift and transport files, office supplies, and boxes weighing up to 50 lbs.
