Arthur James Construction is looking for an experienced mason to join our growing team working on high end residential masonry and custom stone projects throughout Collingwood, The Blue Mountains, Thornbury, Wasaga Beach, and surrounding areas.
We are looking for someone with strong experience in natural stone, veneer, block work, fireplaces, and exterior masonry who takes pride in quality workmanship and attention to detail.
Our projects focus heavily on custom residential masonry including:
- Full height custom fireplaces
- Natural stone veneer
- Full bed stone installation
- Retaining walls and landscape masonry
- Chimneys and restoration work
- Exterior feature walls and entrances
- Custom stone detailing
Responsibilities:
- Installing natural stone and manufactured stone veneer
- Laying block and masonry units
- Cutting and fitting stone accurately
- Reading layouts and maintaining clean lines
- Building fireplaces, retaining walls, and exterior masonry features
- Supervising labourers and maintaining workflow on site
- Ensuring projects are completed to a high standard
- Working efficiently while maintaining quality craftsmanship
Requirements:
- Previous masonry experience required
- Strong understanding of mortar, layout, flashing, and waterproofing principles
- Experience with quick cut saws, mixers, scaffold systems, and masonry tools
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Reliable transportation
- Strong work ethic and professionalism
- Experience with high end residential work is preferred
Assets:
- Experience with full bed stone systems
- Equipment operation experience
- Working at Heights certification
- Experience leading small crews

Pay:
$35 to $50+ per hour depending on experience, skill level, and production ability.
Pay: $30.00-$50.00 per hour
Licence/Certification:
- Class G Licence (required)
