Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Automotive Parts Associate to join our team. This role involves assisting customers with their automotive parts needs, managing inventory, and providing exceptional customer service. The ideal candidate will have experience in dealership settings, retail sales, or automotive repair, along with strong organizational and communication skills. Bilingual abilities and familiarity with POS systems are highly valued. The Automotive Parts Associate plays a crucial role in ensuring efficient order fulfillment and maintaining a well-organized parts department to support our service and sales operations.
Responsibilities
- Assist customers in selecting the correct automotive parts and accessories, providing expert advice based on their vehicle needs
- Manage inventory levels, including stock replenishment, order fulfillment, and organization of parts storage areas
- Operate POS systems for sales transactions, handle cash handling accurately, and process payments efficiently
- Maintain accurate records of sales, returns, and exchanges using Microsoft Excel or similar tools
- Collaborate with the service department to ensure timely availability of parts for repairs and maintenance
- Communicate effectively with customers via phone and in person, demonstrating excellent phone etiquette and customer service skills
- Support marketing efforts by promoting special offers or new products to customers
- Perform basic maintenance tasks within the parts department to ensure cleanliness and safety standards are met
- Utilize CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) for tracking parts orders and maintenance schedules as needed
- Assist in training new team members on POS systems, inventory procedures, and customer service protocols
Experience
- Prior dealership experience or retail sales experience in an automotive environment is preferred
- Familiarity with POS systems, cash handling, and order fulfillment processes
- Knowledge of automotive repair parts and accessories is highly desirable
- Bilingual skills (English/Spanish or other languages) are a plus for serving diverse customer bases
- Experience with Microsoft Excel for data entry and reporting tasks is beneficial
- Strong communication skills, negotiation abilities, and excellent organizational skills are essential for success in this role
- Previous experience with CMMS or marketing strategies related to automotive parts is advantageous
