We're excited to introduce Trius Café & Wine Bar. This is a brand new experience at one of Niagara-on-the-Lake's most iconic winery destinations and Michelin recommended restaurant.
Designed for guests looking to enjoy exceptional coffee, handcrafted espresso beverages, fresh pastries, Chef prepared sandwiches and Niagara wine, the café offers another way to experience the hospitality and quality that Trius is known for.
As a Barista & Café Associate, you'll play an important role in creating memorable guest experiences. Whether crafting the perfect latte, recommending a local wine or welcoming visitors with genuine hospitality, you'll help bring this exciting new concept to life.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working independently, is able to communicate well with leaders, peers and customers, thrives in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in delivering quality with every interaction. As we launch this new café, no two days will look exactly the same, making adaptability, initiative and teamwork essential.
What This Teammate Will Be Responsible For
- Preparing premium espresso-based coffee beverages with consistency, quality and attention to detail.
- Serving pastries, sandwiches and other café offerings while maintaining exceptional presentation.
- Creating welcoming, memorable guest experiences through friendly and knowledgeable customer service.
- Operating the point-of-sale system while accurately processing guest transactions.
- Maintaining a clean, organized and well-stocked café environment throughout each shift.
- Managing guest lineups efficiently while remaining calm and focused during busy periods.
- Working independently with confidence while adapting to changing guest traffic and business needs.
- Pouring and serving wine responsibly in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures as required.
- Collaborating with the entire Trius Retail team to deliver a seamless guest experience across the property.
- Supporting other café and retail responsibilities as needed to ensure an exceptional guest experience.
What Experience, Skills & Knowledge This Teammate Will Bring
- Previous experience as a Barista preparing espresso-based beverages is required.
- A passion for delivering exceptional hospitality and creating memorable guest experiences.
- Experience in a café, restaurant, winery, hospitality or customer service environment.
- Confidence working independently while effectively managing multiple priorities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience operating POS systems and handling cash transactions.
- High attention to detail and pride in producing quality beverages and food presentation.
- A positive, adaptable attitude with a willingness to jump in wherever needed.
- Smart Serve Certification is required.
- Wine knowledge or an interest in learning about wine is considered an asset.
- Availability to work weekends, holidays and a variety of shifts throughout the season including earlier morning shifts.
