Responsibilities
- Measure, cut, assemble, and install insulation materials on pipes, ducts, tanks, and mechanical equipment according to project specifications and blueprints
- Use hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently to secure insulation in place
- Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings to ensure accurate installation
- Apply caulking, plastering, or stucco as needed to seal joints or finish surfaces for optimal insulation performance
- Fabricate custom insulation components when necessary to meet unique project requirements
- Collaborate with other trades such as carpentry, roofing, HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning), and masonry teams to coordinate installation efforts
- Maintain a clean and organized work area while adhering to safety protocols at all times
Requirements
- Proven experience in construction estimating and working on construction sites with diverse trades such as framing, roofing, or masonry
- Proficiency with hand tools (e.g., knives, scissors) and power tools (e.g., saws, drills) used in insulation installation
- Strong knowledge of blueprint reading and schematics related to mechanical systems
- Familiarity with various insulation materials including foam boards, fiberglass batts, mineral wool, or spray foam
- Mechanical knowledge related to HVAC systems or metal stud framing is highly desirable
- Ability to fabricate insulation components accurately for complex or custom applications
- Experience with construction painting or concrete finishing is a plus but not required
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail in measuring and fitting insulation materials
- Physical stamina to perform manual labor in various weather conditions while maintaining safety standards
