Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Powder Coater to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for applying powder coatings to various metal components, ensuring high-quality finishes that meet company standards. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with mechanical aptitude and experience in manufacturing processes to contribute to a dynamic production environment. Candidates should possess strong mechanical knowledge, familiarity with hand and power tools, and the ability to work safely within a fast-paced setting.
Responsibilities
- Prepare metal parts and surfaces for coating by cleaning, masking, and sanding as necessary
- Operate powder coating equipment with precision to ensure even application of coatings
- Use cranes, forklifts, and other machinery to handle large or heavy components safely
- Maintain and troubleshoot coating equipment to ensure optimal performance
- Inspect finished products for quality, consistency, and adherence to specifications
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment at all times
- Assist with assembly or machining tasks as needed within the production line
- Support lean manufacturing initiatives by adhering to process standards and identifying areas for improvement
Qualifications
- Mechanical knowledge with experience in manufacturing or machining environments preferred
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, welding, and assembly processes
- Experience operating cranes, forklifts, or other heavy equipment is a plus
- Basic math skills necessary for measurements and quality checks
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles is advantageous
- Ability to work safely around machinery and adhere to safety guidelines
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills
- Prior experience in powder coating or finishing processes is desirable but not required
