Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor and support a team of planners, designers and technical professionals ;
- Oversee planning and development applications including zoning amendments, official plan amendments, subdivisions and site plan approvals ;
- Provide strategic guidance on land development opportunities, entitlement strategies and municipal processes ;
- Coordinate internal teams and external consultants throughout the development lifecycle ;
- Represent the company at municipal meetings, public consultations, networking events and industry functions ;
- Build and maintain strong relationships with municipalities, stakeholders, consultants and clients ;
- Contribute to business development efforts and identify new project opportunities ;
- Collaborate closely with executive leadership on strategic planning and company growth ;
- Review planning reports, development concepts, presentations and project documentation ;
- Support budgeting discussions, project feasibility reviews and planning-related financial analysis.
Requirements
- Degree in Urban Planning, Land Use Planning, Urban Design or related field ;
- RPP designation required ;
- Minimum 10 years of experience in planning, land development or consulting environments ;
- Strong knowledge of Ontario planning legislation and municipal approval processes ;
- Experience managing multidisciplinary projects and mentoring teams ;
- Strong communication, presentation and relationship-building skills ;
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a client-facing and collaborative approach ;
- Experience with Ontario Land Tribunal (OLT) processes considered a strong asset.
