Assisted Living and Social Services provides support for seniors, families, and communities, and help Albertans access disability services, financial support, services for the homeless, Continuing Care and other social-based programs. Michener – Red Deer:
Michener Services provides licensed supportive living in the community of Red Deer, offering person-centered care for individuals with disabilities in their homes and supporting their participation in community life. Located on the south side of the Michener grounds, these homes serve residents with a wide range of medical, behavioral, and mobility needs. Supports include 24-hour residential assistance with daily living, nursing consultation and assistance, support from the Residential Supervisors Office and First Response Team. Michener Services also promotes community inclusion through individualized planning and operates a fleet of passenger and wheelchair-accessible vans to support transportation needs.

Home Coordinator to lead the day-to-day operations of a 24/7 residential home environment while fostering a positive, inclusive, and person-centered culture.
As a Home Coordinator, you will provide leadership and supervision to a team of staff, ensuring high-quality supports that promote dignity, independence, choice, and well-being for individuals with diverse and complex needs. Role Responsibilities
Reporting to the Supervisor/Manager, you will:
- Lead the daily operations of one or more residential homes, ensuring safe, high-quality, person-centered services.
- Supervise, coach, mentor, and evaluate staff while fostering a respectful, inclusive, and collaborative work environment.
- Coordinate recruitment, orientation, scheduling, performance management, and staff development activities.
- Ensure individuals receive quality supports that promote health, safety, dignity, personal choice, and community inclusion.
- Lead lifestyle planning processes in collaboration with individuals, families, guardians, and interdisciplinary professionals.
- Oversee medication administration practices and ensure staff maintain required competencies and training.
- Manage home budgets, staffing resources, overtime, purchasing, and individual financial accounts in accordance with policy.
- Ensure compliance with legislation, accreditation standards, Occupational Health and Safety requirements, Protection for Persons in Care Act (PPIC), and organizational policies.
- Coordinate home maintenance, equipment, transportation, and administrative functions to support efficient operations.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders including healthcare professionals, guardians, community partners, and government agencies to ensure coordinated service delivery.
- Participate in after-hours operational support and emergency response as required.

MRS:
Directly related two year diploma or a degree related to the position assignment and two years of related experience.
Assets include:
- Working knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, procedures and licensing requirements.
- Emergency planning experience
- Experience servicing persons with developmental disabilities and complex needs; Restrictive Procedures; Accommodation Standards; PPIC Act; Occupational Health and Safety legislation
- Understanding of the AUPE Collective agreement and application to sub 9 staff.
- Finance management skills

- Agility to respond to changing circumstances
- Change management experience
- Computer literacy skills
Minimum recruitment standards outline the minimum education and experience required for appointment to a job classification.
- Hours of work are 23.25hours weekly. - 0.6 full time equivalent, with possibility of additional hours as needed. The biweekly salary for this position will be adjusted down to 0.6 to reflect the weekly working hours.

- This competition will be used to fill 4 positions in Red Deer: 2 year temporary with an end date on or before October 1, 2028
- These positions will require lifting and moving of individuals and equipment.
- The successful candidate(s) will work shifts on weekends and evenings. Flexibility to be called in on short notice for all shifts including morning shifts and overnight awake shifts is a requirement.
- This role requires that you have a valid Class 5 Driver's License and access to a reliable vehicle.
- Candidates must be eligible to work in Canada. A current work visa is required.
- Final candidates will be required to undergo a security screening.
