BMO SOCCER CENTRE (BMOSC) FACILITY ATTENDANT
Position
The BMOS Facility Attendant is responsible for the effective and efficient operation of the BMO Soccer facilities. The Facility Attendant’s responsibilities include regulation enforcement, facility monitoring, courteous customer service, as well as general facility maintenance and cleaning. The facilities are high caliber, high profile sport facilities that can accommodate a number of sports and simultaneous clients. The service provided by the staff working at the facilities must also be of a high caliber to ensure the integrity of each facility is maintained.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Administrative
1. Wear assigned facility clothing while on shift and as required.
2. Provide high quality, friendly, courteous service to all people accessing the complex.
3. Distribute and properly record Locker Room Keys
4. Work hours as per assigned weekly schedule. Be on site prior to the start of your scheduled shift to ensure smooth transition of current staff on site.
5. Direct all facility booking requests from potential facility clients to Facilities Manager or designate. (For all weather outdoor fields, the request must go to the Halifax Regional Municipality outdoor facility scheduler (902-490-4003).
6. Any payments (cheque) associated with the BMO Soccer Centre can be collected by the Facility Attendant. Such payments are to be forwarded to Facilities Manager or designate. Staff are not to handle any cash/credit payments.
7. Become knowledgeable on the operations of the facility systems and equipment as required.
8. Answer office phone (as BMO Soccer Centre) and take messages as required.
9. Regularly check for messages (Phone & e-mail) and respond where necessary.
Shift Responsibilities
1. Ensure fields are appropriately prepared and available, as per schedule, for each client with all amenities relating to the sport including, but not limited to, dressing rooms, goals, lights, etc. Set up the facilities as per approved client requirements as directed by Facilities Manager or Operations Supervisor.
2. Provide facility access to scheduled clients and notify clients of facility’s closure policy whereby they will be asked to vacate the floor 5 minutes prior to end of their booking (all bookings are 55 minutes to the hour). Update Facilities Manager of any clients regularly taking too long to leave the field and/or facility at the end of their rental time.
3. Maintain routine checks including the field surface and perimeter, washrooms (cleaning and supplies), spectator areas, dressing rooms, general lobby space, stairways, elevator, etc.
4. Complete Daily User Log and Daily Shift Log.
5. Routinely check the parking lot and ensure that all access and exit points to the facilities are kept clear at all times. Keep entrance areas free of debris.
6. The facility must be exceptionally clean, orderly and safe at all times – attention must be given to indoor surface; surrounding site perimeters; parking lots; spectator areas; locker rooms; building interior; and ensure refuse removal from the facilities is done on a daily basis and any other additional requirements. Exterior Glass Doors and Elevator must be cleaned once each evening and twice on weekends.
7. Maintain regular checks on the washrooms. Ensure all washrooms are adequately stocked with paper towel, toilet tissue, and hand soap. Notify next Shift Staff if supplies are nearing low numbers and need replenishment. Clean any spillages in a timely manner.
8. Ensure the facilities are being used appropriately by the clients and that all players, coaches, team affiliates, and spectators are adhering to the Code of Conduct (Regulations) of the facilities.
9. Enforce the Code of Conduct for facility clients and spectators, utilizing quality customer service skills to protect the high quality of the facility and its assets.
10. Adhere to facility schedule, ensuring clients start and finish on time. Max overrun is limited to 10 minutes.
11. Update the daily log book and record any concerns with appropriate details such as names/phone numbers/description of issue, and record any other issues relevant to the operation of the facilities. Complete daily Report Sheet.
12. Provide access to first aid supplies and ice (provided by SNSTC) when necessary.
13. Maintain clean and organized office.
14. Collect any items left behind by clients and/or spectators and store in assigned storage.
15. Record all collected items in designated log book.
16. Secure the BMO Soccer Centre – last staff to leave must confirm all exterior doors are locked, ensure field lights are off, all other lights are off as required, and alarm/s set upon departure from the facility at the end of the last shift for the day.
17. Follow operational procedures as outlined.
18. Perform other duties as assigned.
Special Responsibilities
Report any accidents by completing Accident/Incident Report Form. Complete on day of accident and submit to the Facility Manager via Office drop box.
Report any lost or stolen keys immediately. Do not leave site unless site is secured.
