The Role
Teralta is building the infrastructure for the hydrogen energy transition — and we need someone who has spent a career actually building things. This is a hands-on delivery role for a Senior Project Manager who can take ownership of $50M–$200M+ capital projects from FEED through commissioning and handover, operate with real authority in a fast-moving organization, and bring the judgment of a seasoned project executive to a company that is scaling from demonstration to commercial deployment.
If you have delivered complex EPC projects in energy, oil and gas, or industrial sectors — and you're drawn to the mission of clean hydrogen — this is a role where your experience will matter from day one.
What Your Days Look Like
- Owning the full delivery lifecycle of major capital projects — integrated schedules, cost controls, earned value, change management, and reporting — across engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning
- Running EPC contract administration: scope management, change order evaluation, claims, and contractor performance accountability. You are the owner, not the escalation point.
- Leading multidisciplinary engineering teams across process, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, civil, and structural disciplines — reviewing deliverables, driving design decisions, and providing technical challenge where it matters
- Managing project financing coordination — drawdown compliance, lender reporting, and financing covenant adherence — alongside government grant and incentive program obligations
- Navigating a complex stakeholder environment: government agencies, regulatory bodies, lenders, Indigenous rights holders, and multinational project partners including strategic relationships such as Tokyo Gas
- Building the project delivery infrastructure — controls systems, reporting standards, and PM methodology — that will scale with Teralta as the portfolio grows
You Bring
- 15+ years of progressive project management experience in energy, oil and gas, chemical processing, or related industrial sectors — with at least one delivered project at $50M+ through a full EPC lifecycle
- Demonstrated EPC and EPCM contract experience: scope, schedule, cost, claims, and contractor performance. You have been in the room when things go sideways and you know how to hold the line.
- Proficiency in Primavera P6 for scheduling and project controls — this is how our EPC partners operate. Jira and the Atlassian suite (Confluence) for internal collaboration and tracking is a strong plus.
- An engineering degree or Construction Management background, or equivalent technical foundation — candidates with a strong delivery track record and no formal designation will be considered
- P.Eng. (EGBC or equivalent) or PMP certification — strongly preferred; proven project delivery will be weighted equally for exceptional candidates
- Experience managing regulated environments: government agencies, funders, environmental compliance, and Indigenous consultation processes
Bonus Points For
- Experience with hydrogen production, clean energy infrastructure, or oil and gas derivatives processing — O&G sector experience is directly cross-referenceable
- Background in first-of-a-kind (FOAK) technology deployment or demonstration-scale facility execution, where no established playbook exists
- Familiarity with government clean energy funding programs: Clean Hydrogen Investment Tax Credit, Canada Growth Fund, BC CleanBC
- Experience working with multinational joint venture partners or international technology licensors across project governance and commercial structures
What We Offer
- Base salary: $145,000–$175,000, disclosed in accordance with the BC Pay Transparency Act. Where you land in the range reflects your experience and what you bring to the role.
- Annual performance bonus: 12–15% of base, tied to project cost, schedule, safety, and individual KPIs
