We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Dishwasher/Prep Cook to join our Indian restaurant team. This hybrid role is essential to keeping the kitchen running smoothly by maintaining cleanliness and assisting with food preparation. Weekend availability is a must, as we specialize in weekend brunch and dinner.
Dishwashing Duties:
- Wash dishes, glassware, utensils, pots, and pans by hand
- Keep the dishwashing area clean and organized
- Take out trash and recycling regularly
- Sanitize kitchen surfaces and equipment in accordance with health and safety standards
- Assist in closing or opening duties as assigned
Prep Cook Duties:
- Wash, peel, chop, and slice fruits, vegetables, and other ingredients
- Prepare basic items such as batters, sauces etc
- Stock and organize prep stations with necessary supplies
- Follow food safety and hygiene standards
- Assist line cooks as needed during service hours
Qualifications:
- Previous kitchen experience preferred but not required — we’re willing to train the right person
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Team-oriented with a positive attitude
- Basic knowledge of kitchen sanitation and safety regulations
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs
