We are looking for a Health & Safety Coordinator to join Radiant and be part of our dynamic team on a 12 month contract. This posting is for a new position within the organization.
What you will do:
- Support the execution of health and safety programs and initiatives.
- Participate in monthly H&S inspections for all locations, including warehouses and office locations.
- Conduct inspections for emergency equipment at all Ontario locations (e.g. fire extinguisher, first aid kits, etc.)
- Assist in the investigation of H&S incidents.
- Follow up on outstanding corrective action items identified during inspections and incidents and maintain action logs.
- Maintain incident trackers and statistics. Share trends and recommendations to Operations.
- · Assist with the design and development as well as plan and facilitate internal H&S and Operations training programs and maintain all training and certification records
- Conduct on-boarding for new employees.
- Maintain hazard inventories and risk assessments for all locations.
- Update H&S content on warehouse communication screens, Company H&S Intranet page, and H&S boards.
- Maintain Safety Data Sheet Inventory by conducting periodic audits, sourcing updated SDS’s as required, and inputting SDS’s for new products.
- Maintain the Company’s H&S Legal Registry.
- Participate in monthly H&S / JHSC meetings as a worker representative.
- Source and procure H&S supplies, including maintaining the H&S consumables list and safety equipment inventory.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives. Provide recommendations.
- Other duties and assignments as required.
What you bring:
- High school diploma.
- Undergraduate University Degree / College Diploma in Health and Safety or a related field is an asset.
- Minimum 3-year experience in Health and Safety in a warehouse or manufacturing environment.
- JHSC Certification is an asset.
- Working knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety legislation in Ontario.
- Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety legislation in Alberta and BC are assets.
- Ability to travel to other locations within the GTA (up to 60%).
