POSITION SUMMARY: A junior technical position in a machinery building environment. This role requires a background and formal education in industrial controls and automation. Work experience, and hands on aptitude are beneficial. The ideal candidate will have a high level of technical problem-solving ability and a willingness to develop automation solutions. The ability to work with mechanical and electrical engineers to develop new designs and solve existing application problems is essential. This is a multidisciplinary position that also requires the individual to speak on behalf of the engineering department and to engage with customers in problem solving for machinery in the field.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Development of control-systems for Inspection Rewinders
· Work with existing control software and operator interface designs using standard B&R suite of products
· Work under Head of Product Development to execute on software improvements for the rewinder product line
· Work with service coordinator to troubleshoot new and existing rewinder designs
· Participate in electrical engineering activities producing schematics and BOM
OTHER DUTIES:
The role is generally limited to the above, however, from time-to-time other non-customary duties may be required to be performed.
QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES:
College diploma in Automation, Electrical, or Mechatronics Engineering, or a related discipline with strong software aptitude. Minimum 1-2 years’ industrial automation and machinery experience
To succeed in the role, besides the above, automation experience and controls’ programming experience (CNC, PLC, robotics, Embedded Systems) is a must.
SPECIAL DEMANDS:
Physical dexterity using hands, the ability to see finite details and subtle differentiators. A requirement for frequent travel and the ability to work with machinery on customer floor or at KOR factory is a must.
Pay: $25.00-$28.00 per hour
