The Role
BGIS is seeking a motivated Trades Assistant – Electrical to join our Self Perform team, supporting the delivery of high-quality electrical maintenance, repairs, and minor works across commercial client facilities.
In this role, you’ll work alongside qualified Electrical Technicians, providing hands-on support across planned and reactive maintenance tasks — from emergency lighting and switchboards to general electrical infrastructure — while building the practical skills and experience to grow your trade career.

What You’ll Be Doing
Assist qualified Electrical Technicians with planned and reactive maintenance, repairs, and minor works
Prepare tools, equipment, and materials, and help keep worksites clean, organised, and safe
Support fault-finding, installation, and testing of electrical systems and components
Assist with servicing of emergency lighting, smoke alarms, switchboards, and general electrical infrastructure
Support the timely completion of work orders using BGIS systems
Ensure all work is carried out in line with WHS, compliance, and quality standards
Build strong working relationships with technicians, clients, and site teams
Contribute to a safe, positive, and collaborative team culture
Your Education, Experience & Skills
White Card (Construction Induction) — essential
Current Driver’s Licence
Willingness to work towards a Certificate III in Electrotechnology or equivalent trade qualification
Basic understanding of electrical or mechanical work (desirable, not essential)
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Ability to follow instructions and work safely under supervision
Full working rights in Australia (essential)
