Job Description
Hope Flynn is seeking an Art Teaching Assistant to support a series of children's paint bynumber workshops at the Burlington Public Library, New Appleby Branch.
The Art Teaching Assistant will assist children ages 6 to 13 during the workshops by providing encouragement, answering questions, preparing materials, and helping create a welcoming and inclusive learning environment.
Schedule
This is a contract position for four workshops.
Workshop Dates:
- August 9
- August 23
- August 30
- September 5
Workshops are held on weekends from approximately 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm. at the Burlington Public Library, New Appleby Branch.
Compensation
Compensation is $120 per workshop, which includes a $20 travel reimbursement.
Responsibilities
- Assist with setting up and cleaning up before and after each workshop.
- Prepare and organize art supplies and materials.
- Support children ages 6 to 13 during paint by number activities.
- Answer participant questions and provide one-on-one assistance when needed.
- Help maintain a welcoming, organized, and inclusive workshop environment.
- Work collaboratively with the workshop instructor throughout each session.
Qualifications
- Friendly, reliable, and professional.
- Enjoy working with children.
- Interest in art or arts education.
- Experience working with children, camps, schools, or community art programs is considered an asset.
- Ability to communicate clearly and work well as part of a team.
