Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable, motivated and energetic Grounds Maintenance Operative to join our dynamic team. Responsibilities
- Perform routine gardening tasks such as planting, pruning, mowing, weeding, and lawn care to keep outdoor areas vibrant and healthy
- Operate machinery including mowers, power tools, hand tools, and mechanical equipment safely and efficiently
- Maintain irrigation systems to ensure proper watering schedules and troubleshoot issues as needed
- Conduct landscape maintenance activities to preserve the aesthetic appeal of parks, gardens, or other outdoor spaces
- Assist with construction or installation projects related to landscape features or infrastructure improvements
- Carry out regular inspections of grounds to identify hazards or maintenance needs and address them promptly
- Support seasonal tasks such as leaf clearance, or soil preparation to keep grounds accessible year-round
Requirements
- Proven experience in landscaping, gardening, or grounds maintenance is preferred; construction experience is a plus
- Mechanical knowledge with the ability to operate hand tools, power tools, and small machinery safely
- Familiarity with irrigation systems and horticultural practices to promote healthy plant growth
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions with physical stamina for manual tasks
- Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to grounds upkeep and safety standards
- Valid experience operating equipment like excavators is advantageous but not essential; training can be provided for the right candidate
- Good communication skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team effectively
