We are looking for a Breakfast Room Attendant at the Residence Inn by Marriott Vancouver Downtown. You will be responsible for providing quality food and beverage service to our guests in an efficient and courteous manner, consistent with assisting in the daily operations of the Breakfast Room in accordance with both Residence Inn by Marriott and SilverBirch Hotels and Resorts standards.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide timely breakfast service while ensuring a quality guest experience
- Sets tables, inspect silver, china and other table items
- Works as a team with other attendant to ensure that prompt service is given at all times.
- Initiate conversation with guests to make them feel welcome and to encourage guest feedback
- Complete dining area setup and teardown
- Offer guests coffee refills
- Ensure seating is available for guests
- Set and clear tables as needed
- Ensure the buffet is not short of any items and advise the breakfast cook accordingly
- Extend a warm farewell to each guest as they leave
- Complete closing duties to ensure items are set for next day’s breakfast
- Refers food or service complaints to the Manager, Guest Service Operations or Manager on Duty
- May be required to work in the banquets/catering department as needed
- Will need to cover breaks to clean dishes as and when required
- Other duties as assigned
Work Requirements:
- Minimum 1 year serving experience
- Exceptionally strong guest service skills to ensure superior guest service
- Excellent communication skills
- Team-player who is able to recognize the value of guests and associates
- Passion and drive to work and excel in the Hospitality Industry
- Able to multi-task and meet deadlines.
- Tourism / Hospitality Management Diploma or Post-Secondary Degree preferred
- Be able to work various shifts, including early mornings and weekends for the Breakfast Room Attendant role, and possibly afternoons or evenings when assisting in the banquets/catering areas.
- FoodSafe certificate required.
- Maintain a high level of professional appearance, demeanor, and ethics
- Reliable, punctual and responsible
