The Manager, Pharmacy Operations (MPO) is responsible for all aspects of planning, organizing and directing the staff on operational activities for within the assigned regions at the designated Island Health facilities and in collaboration with the other Pharmacy Managers ensures that organizational and departmental policies & procedures remain contemporary and operations are in compliance with them. Coordinates Pharmacy operational change needs to meet quality and safety requirements for the assigned facilities. The MPO is a key member of the Pharmacy leadership team. Responsibilities include strategic management of acute, primary, long-term care and community services in concert and alignment with the other pharmacy managers in achieving corporate goals embodying the principles of Seamless Care services for each patient, resident and client. The incumbent is responsible and accountable for the planning, delivery and evaluation of the systems and processes to optimize pharmacy operations such that full integration across all care & service needs from Acute to Community care are fully integrated.
Registration with the College of Pharmacists of BC, an Accredited Hospital Pharmacy Residency or equivalent post graduate training, Post graduate level training/degree in business or health services administration, membership in the Canadian Society of Hospital Pharmacists, Seven to ten years of progressive and relevant management and leadership experience in a complex acute health care system.
