Housekeeping Supervisor
Job Description
The Housekeeping Supervisor will assist the Head Housekeeper in the efficient operation of the Housekeeping Department. This position will be responsible for ensuring that the Wyndham Hotels & Resorts cleaning standards for all guest and public areas of the hotel are consistently adhered to. This position will also be responsible for maintaining a positive work environment in the Housekeeping area while maintaining high internal/external customer service standards.
Responsibilities:
- Ensures the overall cleanliness, detailing, servicing, care and maintenance of all guest rooms and public areas.
- Uses the Daily Checklist to conduct daily room inspections, and files completed checklists before the end of each shift.
- Ensures a safe work environment is maintained at all times and that all Housekeeping team members are committed to working safely.
- Ensures rooms are set up according to established standards prior to the guest arrival.
- Completes and follows up on all repair and maintenance work orders forwarded to the Maintenance department
- Communicate regularly with the Front Office team to ensure smooth, efficient processes and communication between teams; Liaise with Maintenance regarding guestroom and public space deficiencies.
- Issues daily work assignments and special instructions to the Housekeeping Team
- Cleans guest rooms and public areas when needed.
- Conducts end of shift inspections to ensure that public areas are in compliance with established standards.
- Other duties as assigned by the Head Housekeeper.
- Perform opening and closing Supervisory duties.
- In the absence of the Head Housekeeper, you are responsible for the day-to-day operation of the Housekeeping Department, and may be responsible for Housekeeping scheduling and operations.
- Maintain proper lost and found procedures, as set out for the department.
- Ensure Royal Hotel West Edmonton, Trademark Collection by Wyndham policies and procedures are followed.
- Participating in Internal meetings, Health and Safety. Monthly or weekly meeting to ensure the smooth working operation.
- Participate in VIP room checks and other special projects.
- Report to Head Housekeeper regarding day to day activities, especially in their absence.
- Participate in coaching and learning procedures of the Housekeeping Team.
