Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Shift Manager to oversee daily operations within our restaurant or hospitality establishment. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership skills, a solid background in food service, and the ability to manage a team effectively. This role involves supervising staff, ensuring excellent customer service, maintaining food safety standards, and supporting the overall success of the restaurant during assigned shifts.
Duties
- Supervise and coordinate daily restaurant operations to ensure smooth workflow during your shift
- Lead and motivate team members, including interviewing and onboarding new staff
- Oversee food preparation, cooking, and food handling to meet quality and safety standards
- Manage cash handling procedures and POS transactions using Micros POS or similar systems
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain cleanliness standards in the kitchen and dining areas
- Assist with customer service issues, resolving complaints promptly and professionally
- Monitor inventory levels, assist with ordering supplies, and ensure proper food storage practices
- Train staff on food safety protocols, restaurant policies, and service standards
- Support restaurant management in implementing operational improvements and maintaining high performance
Skills
- Proven experience in food service, restaurant management, or hospitality roles with supervising responsibilities
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage a team effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and food safety regulations
- Experience with POS systems such as Micros POS or similar platforms for cash handling and order processing
- Excellent customer service skills with a focus on guest satisfaction
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail
- Strong communication skills for interviewing staff, training team members, and coordinating with management
- Knowledge of restaurant operations including serving, hospitality standards, and kitchen procedures
