Title: Regional Sales Representative – Ottawa and Northern Ontario (12-month contract)

Marcan Pharmaceuticals Inc. is a pharmaceutical company actively involved in the development, marketing, sales and distribution of branded and generic pharmaceutical products for the Canadian market. Based in Ottawa, Marcan currently manufactures and distributes a variety of drugs covering a wide range of therapeutic categories through numerous dosage forms.
We are looking for a driven and customer-focused Regional Sales Representative to represent our products across Ottawa and Northern Ontario. This is a 12-month contract position to cover an employee leave, with the possibility of extension. The successful candidate will work with independent Retail Pharmacies and end-users to grow market share, support client needs, and achieve sales targets. This role requires travel within the assigned region and a strong understanding of the Canadian market landscape.
Main duties and responsibilities
- Promote and sell Marcan Pharmaceutical products to customers in a specific region.
- Develop and maintain relationships with retail pharmacy partners.
- Understand customer needs and provide tailored product solutions and recommendations.
- Prepare and deliver sales presentations and product demonstrations.
- Negotiate pricing, contracts, and direct orders in compliance with company policies.
- Monitor market trends and competitor activity to identify new business opportunities.
- Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, sales activities, and forecasts using CRM tools.
- Attend trade shows, exhibitions, and other networking events as required.
- Additional duties may be assigned occasionally as required by the company.
Skills and Experience
- 2+ years of sales experience, ideally in generic pharmaceutical industry, or B2B environments.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software.
- Bilingualism (English/French) is considered a strong asset, particularly for positions serving Quebec or national clients.
- Post-secondary education in Business, Marketing, or a related field is preferred.
Travel Requirements
- Ability to travel frequently within Ottawa and Northern Ontario (valid driver’s licence and passport may be required).
- Mandatory 5‑business‑day stay in Ottawa every 8 weeks.
