The Gisborne Group is seeking an experienced Superintendent for an Industrial Construction project in the Northwest Territories.
Responsibilities
- Oversees all site activities ensuring that work is completed as per the schedule and in accordance with both client and Gisborne specifications
- Ensures and promotes proactive project safety management and security practices
- Conducts daily meetings to plan daily, weekly, and monthly production requirements
- Liaisons with the client as directed by Project Manager
- Monitors and keeps track of all costs and ensures cost codes maintained
- Represents Gisborne and attends all contract, production and progress meetings with the Client and the Owner as required
- Relays all issues and concerns related to safety
- Organizes all equipment and storage requirements
- Ensures all back up information is provided for invoicing as per contract
- Interpret schedules, identify changes required for trackin
- Ensures that appropriate construction equipment is used related to the various scopes of work and ensures it is available and delivered to site in accordance with schedule requirements
- Manages costs through proactive planning and utilizes Gisborne Resources as a first source where practical
- Establishes effective communication with consultants, sub-contractors and clients
- Ensures that submissions of cost coded timesheets, quantity reports, purchase orders, delivery slips, QA/QC documentation, daily reports and all administrative tracking/management documents
- Tracks and reports labour/material/subcontractor time and material field activities
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Journeyperson trade certificate
- Minimum of 5 years trade experience or relevant post-secondary education
- Minimum 5 years relevant site leadership experience (on site experience mandatory)
- Demonstrated competency in a Superintendent role

- Excellent communication, organizational and supervisory skills are essential
- Basic working knowledge of - MS Outlook, Excel, Word & Project
- Ability to read and interpret drawings
- Effective time management skills
- Understanding and use of scheduling skills
- Strong decision making skills
- A strong foundation in project costs and staff productivity management and enhancement
Compensation + Benefits:

Schedule:
- 20 & 8 rotation
- 12 hours per day
