· Summary: Collaborate with our supportive team of 9 at a fulfilling Aboriginal Head Start environment. Reporting to the A.H.S. Coordinator/ Supervisor, the incumbent will provide cultural, language and educational activities to preschool children and their families. The successful candidate will show respect, care, and support to families and children.
About the role
Little Teaching Lodge seeks an Early Childhood Educator II to join our supportive and compassionate team on a permanent full-time basis. Duties and responsibilities include:
· Provide children/ families with a safe, secure, welcoming, and nurturing environment
· Collaborate with a team of 9 to ensure the best outcomes for children and families
· Develop, implement, and evaluate the daily routines and programmes for individual children and/or groups
· Build meaningful, trusting, and respectful relationships with children and their caregivers
· provide cultural, language and educational activities to preschool children and their families
Skills, experience, and requirements
· Early Childhood Education II classification in Manitoba
· Understanding of the AHS Principles and Guidelines, Provincial Regulations and Early Years Developmental Milestones
· First Aid/CPR
· Clear Criminal Record Check and Child Abuse Registry Check
· Proven reliability and regular attendance
· Knowledge, understanding and respect for Indigenous Ceremonies and practices.
- Must possess basic computer skills.
· Valid Manitoba Class 4 license or ability to obtain one within three months
· Commit to kids training
- Ability to speak an Indigenous Language
- previous experience working with children and families
- knowledge of Aboriginal Head Start and its components

Little Teaching Lodge is an Aboriginal Head Start program sponsored by the Brandon Friendship Centre and Funded by the Public Health Agency of Canada. We have been in operation since 1995 and pride ourselves in having long term staff and building relationships with families. Our team is passionate about providing children with quality care, cultural experiences and enriched learning environments while also providing supports and skill building to the whole family.
