Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Helper to support our culinary team in a fast-paced food service environment. The Kitchen Helper will assist with meal preparation, food handling, and general kitchen duties to ensure smooth daily operations.
Duties
- Assist with food preparation and cooking activities
- Support food handling processes, ensuring proper storage and sanitation practices
- Help with serving food to customers or staff in a timely and professional manner
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen areas, including washing dishes, cleaning surfaces, and organizing supplies
- Assist in setting up workstations and restocking ingredients or utensils as needed
- Follow all food safety guidelines to prevent contamination and ensure quality standards are met
- Support meal preparation tasks for various menu items, adhering to recipes and portion controls
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient kitchen operations during busy periods
Requirements
- Previous experience in food service, restaurant, or kitchen environments is preferred
- Knowledge of food handling safety and sanitation standards
- Ability to perform basic cooking and food preparation tasks
- Strong serving skills with a focus on customer satisfaction when applicable
- Good communication skills and ability to work well within a team
- Willingness to learn new skills related to meal preparation and food safety protocols
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting or carrying supplies or dishes
- A positive attitude, reliability, and a strong work ethic are essential for success in this role
