We are seeking a Class 1 Driver to join our team in Canada. Based in Halifax, this role is vital to our mission of providing reliable transportation solutions and maintaining high standards of safety and efficiency. Your contribution will help us uphold our commitment to excellence in logistics.
Responsibilities
- Operate commercial vehicles safely and efficiently to transport freight across designated routes.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance.
- Load and unload cargo using forklifts when necessary, adhering to safety protocols.
- Maintain accurate documentation of deliveries and vehicle logs.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients to coordinate deliveries.
- Follow all traffic laws and company policies to ensure safety on the road.
- Assist in heavy equipment operation if required.
- Perform basic automotive repairs or troubleshooting when needed.
- Qualifications
- Valid Class 1 driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Proven experience in commercial driving and freight transportation.
- Ability to operate forklifts and heavy equipment safely.
- Strong knowledge of transportation regulations and safety standards.
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to perform basic automotive repairs or troubleshooting.
- Physical fitness to handle loading/unloading tasks.
- Prior experience working in logistics or transportation companies is preferred.
