Express Employment Professionals is recruiting Industrial Manufacturing Labourers for a leading manufacturing company in Calgary. This is a long-term evaluation-to-hire opportunity with room for growth for individuals who are physically fit, safety-focused, and looking to build a career in manufacturing.
This position is responsible for a variety of labour-intensive duties related to the processing of heat-treated tubing and metal parts used in the oil and gas industry. The work is performed in an industrial manufacturing environment where heat, dust, dirt, and outdoor weather conditions are part of the job.
Responsibilities
- Handle oil and gas production tubing of various sizes
- Prepare tubing for processing, including cleaning, packing, and unpacking
- Assist with manufacturing and production processes
- Load, unload, and move materials throughout the facility
- Clean machinery, equipment, and work areas
- Inspect finished products for quality
- Operate production equipment safely
- Operate forklifts and overhead cranes (training provided)
- Use hand and power tools, including grinders, drill presses, power tongs, files, and hammers
- Meet daily production requirements while maintaining quality and safety standards
- Read, understand, and follow all Safe Work Practices and Procedures
- Perform other general labour duties as assigned
Work Environment
This is a physically demanding role in an industrial manufacturing facility. Employees must be comfortable working in dirty, dusty, hot, and noisy conditions, as well as outdoors in all weather when required. Safety is the top priority at all times.
Requirements
- Previous production or manufacturing experience is required
- General labour or construction experience is an asset
- Forklift experience is an asset
- Comfortable performing manual labour and repetitive physical tasks
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs on a regular basis
- Comfortable getting dirty as part of the job
- Able to work in hot, cold, dusty, and outdoor environments
- WHMIS certification (or willingness to complete the required test)
- Ability to pass a background check and drug/alcohol test
- Strong attendance, positive attitude, and willingness to learn
- Excellent commitment to workplace safety
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Reliable transportation is an asset
