Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a motivated individual to join our team as a junior (2 years) to mid-level (5 years) CAD Specialist. Candidates would ideally have a combination of education and experience pertaining to the drafting and design of river restoration projects. The position is Fulltime and would involve the preparation of AutoCAD design drawings, project quantity estimation and reporting. The successful candidate should also have the ability to work as a member of a survey crew as required. A more experienced hire would take on project management responsibilities. Qualifications:
A successful candidate should have:
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- College diploma or equivalent in Civil Engineering or AutoCAD
- Experience in field surveying (engineering or topographic surveys using total station, GPS and rod & level equipment).
- Interest in and understanding of current environmental issues and a shared vision for sustainability.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate with clients and co-workers.
- Organized work approach in order to manage the diverse nature of the work required.
- Ability to work independently and promptly grasp new concepts.
- Car and Valid Driver’s Licence (use of personal vehicle may be required for field work but will be reimbursed for mileage).
- Member of, or eligibility in, OACETT
A successful candidate will also have the following software experience:
- Microsoft Office
- AutoCAD Civil 3D
- QGIS
- Hydrologic or hydraulic modelling programs
