About the role
The Naval Programs teams spans across Lockheed Martin Canada Inc. (Lockheed Martin)'s main project sites (Kanata, Montreal, and Dartmouth), opportunities are available at all sites for supporting Naval Combat Systems Programs and Proposal Capture activities.
The candidate will participate as a Cyber Systems Security Engineer member of the Naval Development team in a multi-disciplined team environment to perform tasks such as requirements Verification and Validation (V&V), support security testing activities, issue analysis and resolution related to multiple subsystems.
The Cyber Systems Security Engineer will develop cybersecurity solutions to assure the confidentiality, availability, and integrity of the information systems of national and international programs. In this role, the candidate will:

Drive security-by-design for very large and complex military systems from concept to Acceptance and Authority-to-Operate
-
Transform operational needs and regulatory requirements into secure system architectures through model-based systems security engineering.

Define information segregation boundaries (separating classified / unclassified information)

Conduct security architecture reviews and assessments.

Define access control structures and methodologies
-
Partner with cross‑disciplinary engineering, procurement, and program management teams.
What you bring to the role
- Possesses a bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, or an equivalent security engineering credential

Minimum five years of professional experience in cyber security architecture, systems engineering, or a closely related discipline

Experience developing and documenting Security Architectures, Security Requirements Specifications, and Security Architecture Assessments

Demonstrated ability to lead and influence design decisions that significantly enhance security posture.

Ability to obtain North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) Secret clearance in a timely manner
-
Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical members of the engineering/management staff and personnel assigned to related work

Aptitude for solving challenging problems in a team environment

Have a high degree of initiative and autonomy

Ability to adapt and perform in a dynamic environment.
Additional skills desired for the role
- Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification or equivalent

Familiarity with WindChill™, Dynamic Object-Oriented Requirements System (DOORS)™, and Cameo™

Ability to manage multiple conflicting priorities while progressing milestone tasks

Familiarity with Systems Modelling Language (SysML) or other object-oriented design methodology

Experience with Agile methods

Experience in the Defence domain and with government security frameworks

Software or systems architecture (Virtualization, network topology, cyber settings, automated health monitoring, Operating Environment, etc.).
Language Requirements in Quebec
Knowledge of the English language is required for this role as the position described in this posting requires the candidate to communicate every day with a virtual team outside Quebec as well as communicate with different members of the organization, clients and suppliers located outside of Canada. For engineering positions, the candidate must also be able to read or modify technical documents from our main clients and write technical documents for these same clients.
