We are a local, family owned and operated fresh bakery, with bakery operations in Sussex, NB, and Moncton, NB. We also own and operate the McBun’s Retail outlets in Moncton, NB. Our Sussex bakery is looking to hire a Sanitation Lead. In this position the individual would be responsible for cleaning and sanitization of bakery equipment, general cleaning in the plant as well as managing a dedicated team.
**This position is night shift**
Required Qualifications:
- Adhere to working in compliance with food safety/sanitation/quality standards.
- Comfortable with Microsoft suite software
- Experience with Leadership and Lean Manufacturing is considered an asset.
- Willing to work evening’s, nights, and weekends as the sanitation crew must work offset production.
- Upholds and complies with company procedures, standards and policies in all situations including health and safety standards and regulations.
- Ability to learn quickly, pays attention to detail as working with bakery equipment.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Highly motivated and team oriented as the sanitation crew works together to achieve all their daily requirements.
Primary Duties:
- Work with the production manager to help coordinate work and break schedules for the production team.
- Train, mentor, and supervise Sanitation staff. Provide guidance on best practices for safety and cleanliness.
- Work with the mangers regarding employee reviews, and any required disciplinary action.
- The worker will be responsible for ensuring all bakery equipment is cleaned as per production schedules allows.
- Cleaning of all production equipment based on its needs (this may include scrubbing, blowing with air, washing)
- Follow all necessary steps required in cleaning of all equipment, this may include removing parts of the equipment and to ensure they are cleaned properly. Attention to detail is extremely important.
- They will also be responsible for General plant cleaning- includes washing of dishes and sweeping and mopping of plant floor.
- Ensure all checklists are followed and used properly.
- Ensure all necessary paperwork is maintained and kept up to date.
- Works in a safe and responsible manner in all aspects of the job.
- Upholds and complies with company procedures, standards and policies in all situations including health and safety standards and regulations.
- Employee must work in a fast-paced environment as production runs on a schedule.
- Perform other related tasks as assigned.
