Founded in 2019, The PrEP Clinic is a leading provider of HIV prevention and sexual health services in Ontario, delivering both online and in-person care. We provide accessible, stigma-free services for diverse communities, including HIV prevention, treatment, and comprehensive sexual health care, through a sex-positive and inclusive approach.
About the Role
The Prep Clinic is looking for a Medical Laboratory Assistant (MLA) to perform phlebotomy at our evening walk-in clinics. This part-time role is ideal for someone who values inclusive, patient-centered care and wants to contribute to HIV prevention/treatment and sexual health services in a supportive team environment.
Schedule:
- Mondays: 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM
- Thursdays: 3:30 PM – 9:00 PM
Key Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture, blood collection, and other sample collection (e.g., urine and swabs)
- Label and prepare specimens for transport to laboratory
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming clinical environment
- Maintain compliance with collection and testing protocols.
- Maintain and adhere to privacy regulations related to confidential information
- Accurately document within the electronic medical record (EMR) system
- Provide a comfortable, stigma-free experience for all patients
- Collaborate with the Nurse Navigator and members of the clinical and administrative teams as needed

As the clinic provides care to a very diverse patient population, fluency in additional languages to English is ideal.
Qualifications
- Mandatory MLA certification with MLPAO or CSMLS
- Phlebotomy experience required; 2+ years preferred
- Experience documenting in electronic medical record (EMR) systems
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a patient-centred approach
- Commitment to delivering inclusive, affirming care for 2SLGBTQI+ communities and other diverse populations
- Reliable, proactive, and detail-oriented with strong attention to accuracy
- CPR certification is considered an asset.

Pay: $26.00-$27.00 per hour
