Position Overview
The Slot Attendant is responsible to ensure the proper functioning of slot machines, processing jackpots, and provides exceptional customer service by ensuring a clean floor free of debris, serving beverages to guests on the floor, and assisting in casino promotions and programs.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Greet guests and interact with them
- Promote positive customer experiences by providing prompt and courteous services
- Possess full knowledge of the Totem Rewards benefits and slot promotions
- Maintain a professional and positive demeanor
- Deliver and sell casino promotions, programs, and amenities to casino guests
- Process jackpots and hand pay transactions
- Resolve basic machine status errors including, but not limited to, paper outs, machine malfunctions, and other errors
- Monitor machine errors through candle lights and slot radio notifications
- Advise a Casino Shift Manager of any urgent issues including major machine malfunctions, large jackpot amounts, customer disputes, and other items as explained in the Slot Attendant Manual
- Carry a float to exchange bills and sell beverages on the gaming floor
- Prepare new and/or lost Totem Reward Membership cards
- Create updates and edits to membership profiles when necessary
- Distribute free play, food vouchers, and on the Patron Management system
- Service guests on the entire gaming floor including the casino bar lounge, smoking room, gaming floor
- Maintain assigned areas by keeping them clean and free of debris by removing empty or abandoned cups, bottles, glasses, and garbage bags
- Push in slot chairs to upkeep a meticulous appearance
- Maintenance on slot machines – deep clean of the interior and exterior
- Report intoxicated guests to the Casino Shift Manager
- Comply with departmental policies and procedures as detailed in the Slot Attendant Manual
- Troubleshooting for POS and attached peripherals, printers, etc
- Replace Moneris (wireless Moneris and wired)/Troubleshooting
- Restart/Troubleshooting (TV’s, attached PC’s, Music and PA system)
- Program/Restart Mirror Booth (add frames in cooperation Marketing and Events)
- Promotion kiosk (Change papers and Add cards)
- Access Microsoft password page and log in for new employees
- Other duties as required and assigned
Secondary Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist with Fiddle Head bartending duties only when requested by the Casino Shift Manager
Working Conditions
- May be required to stand, sit or bend for extended periods of time
- Must be available to work a rotating shift support the Casino hours of operations (holidays and weekend included)
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
Experience & Qualifications Required
- Must be 19 years or over
- High School graduation or equivalency
- Strong computer and technological skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Bilingual (English and French) is essential
- Strong customer service skills
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
Additional Experience
- Casino experience preferred
- Responsible Beverage and Food Safety training
