Looking for an individual to join our bread baking team with a passion for baking and willingness to learn.
Applicants must be able to work evenings and weekends. Our team makes everything from scratch and by hand. You will be working with other experienced bakers to learn everything there is to know.
What the Job entails:
- Preparing raw goods for fillings
- Shaping, rolling + scaling dough
- Proofing breads + pastries
- Lamination, cutting + shaping of croissants
- Scaling + measuring ingredients
- Use of equipment such as Steam injection oven, proofers, sheeter, mixers, convection ovens, and digital scales
- Shifts are scheduled starting at 5 - 7pm and can be 8-10 hours
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Passion for baking
- A positive attitude
- Being part of a skilled team, follow direction + not afraid to ask for help
- Are reliable + respectful
- Basic culinary skills such as proper knife handling + safe food handling are required
- Applicants must be able to read + follow recipes
- Understanding of weights + measures
- Have a basic understanding of baking from scratch, proofing + chemistry of baking bread
- Have a basic understanding of the processes of scaling, shaping + scoring loaves
- Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Able to withstand repetitive movements + standing for the duration of a shift
- Ability to bending + lifting over your head
- Organized, work quickly + keep a tidy work space
- Experience working with yeasted + sourdough based breads are asset
Wage will be based on experience + skill level.
Pay: $19.00-$21.00 per hour
