Acden Environment Limited Partnership is seeking Temporary Class 1/ Class 3 Operators to support a turnaround event at Syncrude located in Fort McMurray, Alberta. The schedule will consist of 6 on, 1 off; working 12-hour day and night shifts; however, schedules, shifts and site locations may change from time to time to meet operational requirements.
This position is expected to end on or before June 30, 2024. For non-locals, camp accommodation is provided. Bussing to and from site will be available for locals to the Fort McMurray area.

What you’ll be doing
- Maintain waste services through collection and transportation of waste and equipment.
- Operating roll off and lugger trucks as required.
- Complete thorough Commercial Vehicle Inspections, including documenting and reporting deficiencies promptly to immediate supervisor.
- Inspect condition of waste bins, report defects, and monitor condition and functionality.
- Notify dispatch and/or supervisor of delays, unsafe work sites, incidents, equipment breakdowns and/or maintenance or operation concerns.
- Addressing and resolving client concerns and when appropriate, referring inquiries to leadership.
- Ensure all waste services are completed in a safe and timely manner.
- Ensuring that housekeeping and cleanliness of all worksites and equipment are sustained.
What do you bring to the table?
- Valid Class One (1) license or a valid Class Three license with Airbrake endorsement is a requirement.
- Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) experience is an asset.
- Minimum of three (3) years of commercial driving experience is required.
- Must be eligible to acquire access to all Acden client sites as required by the position.
- Site experience is considered an asset.
- A drivers abstract in good standing is required.
- Have experience with manual transmissions.
- The ability to work independently with minimal supervision and in a team environment.
- Clear and precise verbal and written communication skills.
- Load securement experience in accordance with Alberta Load Securement practices is a strong asset to the position.
- The ability to log Hours of Service as they pertain to the Province of Alberta’s Drivers Hours of Service Regulations is a requirement.
- Must be able to pass the physical demands that are set forth to perform the duties of a Class 1/3 Operator which may include but not limited to bending, twisting, standing, walking, sitting for extended periods of time. Must be able to lift, carry and push/pull heavy objects.
