Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Journeyperson Electrician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems across various residential and commercial settings. This role requires a strong understanding of electrical codes, schematics, and safety protocols to ensure efficient and reliable electrical operations. The Journeyperson Electrician will work on diverse projects, including renovations, new installations, and troubleshooting complex electrical issues.
Duties
- Install, inspect, and repair electrical wiring, systems, and equipment in accordance with blueprints and schematics
- Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and electrical blueprints to execute projects accurately
- Troubleshoot electrical problems using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment
- Work with low voltage systems, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), and automation controls
- Assist in construction projects involving electrical work for new builds or renovations
- Maintain compliance with all safety standards and electrical codes during installation and repair tasks
- Use hand tools such as pliers, wire strippers, screwdrivers, and multimeters to perform precise work
- Collaborate with other tradespeople on complex renovation or construction projects
- Perform preventive maintenance to ensure ongoing operational efficiency of electrical systems
Skills
- Proven experience as an industrial electrician or related field with a strong understanding of electrical systems
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams accurately
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment used in electrical work
- Knowledge of low voltage systems and programmable logic controllers (PLCs)
- Experience with construction projects including new installations and renovations
- Strong troubleshooting skills to quickly identify issues within complex electrical systems
- Handyman experience is a plus for versatile problem-solving capabilities
- Excellent safety awareness and adherence to electrical codes and standards
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and project managers
