General Labourer

Caxton Mark Inc., a leading manufacturer of premium pressure-sensitive labels, has a vacancy for a General Labourer. Duties will include various tasks including packing, sorting, and moving of product, cleanup of printing plates and ink trays, box making, etc.
The ideal candidate will be an organized and detail-oriented individual, very dependable with a desire to take control of their responsibilities and work areas. The candidate must be flexible with changing job duties and assignments as needed on a daily basis, and able to effectively prioritise job tasks.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
· Ability to proficiently read, write and communicate in the English language
· Ability to read and understand written instructions; ability to comprehend verbal instructions
· Knowledge of production methods, systems, and continuous-improvement processes an asset
· Mechanically inclined is an asset, but not required
· Perform duties such as manual lifting (Up to 60lbs) packaging, taping, labelling, sorting and other tasks as assigned
· Comply with all workplace and product safety standards and SQF procedures & practices
· Exhibit a safety-first attitude in all facets of work, from proper PPE compliance to keeping the work environment safe and hazard-free
· Ability to work effectively and efficiently alone and as part of a team
· Flexibility for shift rotations as assigned

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK CONDITIONS
The essential functions of this job require the employee to perform the following physical activities during the course of work:
· Standing while performing job duties (typically for 8-hours or more per day)
· Walking, stooping, bending, kneeling, lifting, and reaching
· Use of various material handling equipment - lift truck, hand jacks, etc.
· Manual dexterity required
· Lifting requirements for this position: Up to 60 lbs.
· Ability to work in a fast-paced, demanding work environment
