On behalf of our Banking client, Procom is searching for a Financial Model Control Specialist for a 1-year role. This position is a hybrid position with 4 days onsite at our client’s Toronto office.
Financial Model Control Specialist - Job Description:
The Model Control Team within Enterprise Risk Model Development is responsible for model implementation testing, related change management, and control function and support for Securities valuation and Market Risk models. This role primarily supports the Global Equities Derivatives business within Securities, collaborating with various teams to ensure effective model testing and integration.
Financial Model Control Specialist - Responsibilities:
- Create, oversee, and track model implementation testing requirements and test artifacts for equities derivatives pricing models.
- Create and own the model implementation test strategy and support end-to-end test phases.
- Provide leadership to turn testing requirements into delivery test cases and test plans with analyses and recommendations.
- Provide timely updates on project test execution and status to senior management and stakeholders.
- Identify and escalate issues to ensure prompt attention/resolution.
- Maintain stakeholder relationships and build trust with stakeholder groups.
- Deliver productivity, quality, and innovation as part of an effective and diverse team.
Financial Model Control Specialist - Mandatory Skills:
- Experience with Market Risk, Credit Risk, and derivatives pricing modeling.
- Strong working knowledge and hands-on experience with a common industry programming language (e.g., Python).
- Experience in business requirement gathering, data analysis, modeling, testing, and documentation within the financial or IT industry.
- University degree in a financial engineering or strongly quantitative field.
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Self-motivated, well-organized, able to work both independently and in a team environment.
Financial Model Control Specialist – Nice-to-Have Skills:
- CFA/FRM certifications.
- Quantitative modeling experience at a large financial institution.
Financial Model Control Specialist – Assignment Length:
This is a 1-year contract position with the possibility of extension based on business needs and performance.
