Hotel Grand Pacific is seeking a talented Sous Chef to join our Kitchen management team. An independent luxury property, we are home to the highly acclaimed Fathom Restaurant and have 10,000 square feet of function space.
We’re looking for a Red Seal-certified chef with integrity, a positive attitude, proven creativity, and excellent leadership qualities.
Duties:
- Supervise and participate in the day-to-day operation of all Kitchen areas to ensure the highest quality and presentation of products
- Assist with menu development and food presentation specs
- Coach and motivate the Kitchen team to success
- Work with the Executive Chef to prepare the budget
- Assist in conducting monthly staff meetings
- Assist with staff scheduling and submission of payroll time sheets when required
- Ensure health & safety protocols are followed at all times
- Other duties as assigned by the Executive Chef.
What We’re Looking For:
- Red Seal Certification and Food Safe Certification
- At least 5 years of culinary experience that includes supervisory responsibilities
- Experience working in a 4 or 5-star property is preferred
- Minimum 2 years of Banqueting experience
- Positive and effective communication skills
- An encouraging and motivating attitude
- Accountable and professional with a high level of integrity
- Able to produce accurate and timely food costs
- Available to work full-time hours in AM shifts and flexible on business needs.
