Job Description
The Overhead Crane Operator is responsible for safely operating overhead and gantry cranes to move, load, and unload metal materials throughout the facility. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in a metal or industrial environment and hold a valid crane operator license.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate overhead cranes to lift and move heavy metal materials, coils, sheets, and related products.
- Inspect crane equipment daily and report any issues or maintenance needs.
- Follow all safety protocols, operational guidelines, and company procedures.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, forklift operators, and production staff.
- Ensure proper placement and securing of loads to prevent damage or hazards.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Assist with general warehouse or production tasks as required.
Requirements
- Valid Overhead Crane Operator License (required).
- Minimum 1–2 years of previous experience operating overhead cranes, preferably in a metal manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Strong understanding of safety practices related to crane operation and material handling.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a fast-paced industrial setting.
- Good communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
- Reliable, punctual, and safety-focused.
