Gilbertson Fine Homes is a small, reputable construction company specializing in renovations and new builds. We specialize in residential and commercial projects and are looking for a 1st or 2nd year apprentice eager to learn the trade, work hard, and grow within the company.
Current work sites will be in the Nanaimo area.
Responsibilities
- Assist journeyman carpenters with construction and renovation projects
- Measure, cut, and assemble building materials
- Load and unload materials and tools
- Maintain a clean and safe worksite
- Operate hand and power tools safely
- Follow construction plans and instructions
- Support framing, drywall, finishing, and general carpentry tasks
Requirements
- 1st or 2nd year apprenticeship
- Interest in carpentry and construction
- Basic knowledge of hand and power tools is an asset
- Ability to lift heavy materials and work on your feet
- Reliable transportation to job sites
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
- Safety-conscious attitude
- Valid driver’s license preferred
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous construction or labour experience
- Enrollment in or completion of a carpentry apprenticeship program
