Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Class 1 Driver to join our team for local and federal transportation operations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in commercial driving, heavy equipment operation, and freight handling. This role requires a professional with excellent driving skills with flat deck experience, safety awareness, and the ability to operate various types of heavy machinery. Duties
- Safely operate commercial vehicles including trucks and heavy equipment for local and federal routes
- Transport freight efficiently while adhering to all safety regulations and traffic laws
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance
- Load and unload freight using forklifts or other heavy equipment as needed
- Maintain accurate documentation of deliveries, pickups, and vehicle logs
- Perform minor automotive repairs or troubleshooting when necessary to ensure vehicle readiness
- Follow all federal, state, and company safety policies during operations
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, clients, and team members to coordinate deliveries
Skills
- Proven experience operating Class 1 commercial vehicles in a professional setting
- Proficiency in forklift operation and heavy equipment handling
- Knowledge of freight handling procedures and safety protocols
- Ability to perform basic automotive repairs or troubleshooting on heavy vehicles
- Strong understanding of federal transportation regulations and compliance standards
- Excellent driving record with a focus on safety and reliability
- Good communication skills for coordinating with team members and clients
- Ability to operate heavy machinery safely in various environments
