Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and motivated Carpenter Helper to assist skilled carpenters and construction teams on various projects. This entry-level role provides an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the construction industry, working alongside experienced professionals. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong work ethic, eagerness to learn, and basic understanding of carpentry and construction tools. This position involves supporting a variety of tasks including framing, finishing, and other building activities, contributing to the successful completion of residential, commercial, or restoration projects.
Responsibilities
- Assist with reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings to support project execution.
- Support concrete forming, rebar installation, siding, roofing, and tile laying tasks as directed.
- Help with cabinet installation, flooring installation, and drywall work.
- Operate hand tools and power tools safely to perform various carpentry tasks.
- Assist with masonry work, woodworking, and general construction activities such as caulking, painting, and assembly.
- Support plumbing and electrical installations under supervision.
- Perform heavy lifting and material handling to ensure smooth workflow on-site.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment to promote safety and efficiency.
- Follow all safety protocols and guidelines during daily operations.
Qualifications
- Prior experience or familiarity with construction or carpentry is preferred but not required; willingness to learn is essential.
- Basic knowledge of hand tools, power tools, and construction practices such as framing or drywall installation is advantageous.
- Ability to read schematics or blueprints is a plus.
- Strong work ethic with the ability to follow instructions accurately.
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and stand for extended periods; capable of working in various weather conditions.
- Excellent teamwork skills with a proactive attitude toward safety and quality.
- Previous handyman experience or skills in masonry, roofing, flooring installation, or electrical/plumbing work are beneficial but not mandatory.
