About the Position:
The Education Lead, Primary Service Provider, is responsible for the oversight of team leadership including coordination, IPP oversight, transition planning, support with problem-solving, and Primary Service Provider supervision.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
This role combines team leadership, service coordination, and oversight of Individual Program Plans (IPPs) to ensure high-quality early childhood services. The Education Lead, establishes connections with families, organizes Routine-Based Interviews (RBIs), facilitates team meetings, and contributes to organizational resources. As an Education Lead, you are responsible for IPP quality, attending and coordinating meetings, and ensuring plans are completed, consistent, and meaningful. The role also leads transition planning for children moving to school or community programs, including coordinating meetings, preparing reports, and supporting families through the process.
The position includes supervisory and problem-solving responsibilities. This includes supervising Primary Service Providers (OT, SLP, PT) and Developmental Assistants assigned to your caseload, through coaching, training, and performance management. As an Education Lead, you will provide backup support to families and staff when needed to ensure continuity of care and timely issue resolution. You will also support staff development through reflective supervision, performance reviews, and payroll/time approvals, while fostering collaboration and strong team functioning.
As an Education Lead, Primary Service Provider you will hold a caseload. The role emphasizes evidence-based, family-centered, and coaching-oriented practices. Responsibilities include conducting regular visits in natural environments, supporting families and community partners in achieving developmental goals, and advocating for additional services where needed. You will apply coaching strategies to build capacity in caregivers and team members, support interdisciplinary collaboration, participate in joint visits, and provide consultation and training. Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills are essential to effectively coordinate services and achieve positive outcomes for children and families.
In addition, this position also provides secondary service support through coaching and consultation by participating in joint visits to assist Primary Service Providers with discipline-specific interventions, evaluations, and strategies. Your expertise in education will provide peer-to-peer coaching through team meetings, one-on-one support, workshops, and collaborative visits, while also guiding team members in accessing appropriate referrals and specialized resources.
Compensation & Benefits: This position offers a competitive hourly wage ranging from $43.16 to $61.38, commensurate with the scope of responsibilities and required experience. The role is scheduled for 35.00 hours per week over 42.60 paid weeks per year, starting in late August and ending at the end of June. Vacation time is aligned with the program calendar and includes two weeks at Christmas and one week during spring break.

Job Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree in Education, preferably with major in Special Education
- Certification: Valid Alberta Teaching Certificate
- Minimum of five years’ teaching experience preferably with preschool aged children with developmental disabilities
- Demonstrated Early Childhood Learning and Development knowledge.
- Demonstrated knowledge of disabilities and neurodiversity, with a strong commitment to neurodiversity-affirming practice.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Confidence in the use of technology to support service delivery and documentation.
- Own reliable vehicle and required business liability insurance coverage.
- Maintain clear Police information check with Vulnerable Sector, and Children’s Intervention Record Check.
Work Demands include:
- Ability to actively engage with children during assessment and programming, including participating in play based, floor‑based, and movement‑based activities.
- Ability to bend, kneel, squat, sit on the floor, and transition between positions as required to interact at a child’s physical level.
- Ability to use hands and arms for play, demonstration of activities, handling toys/materials, and interacting with children and caregivers.
- Ability to tolerate periods of standing, walking, and sitting throughout the workday.
- Ability to utilize technology.
- Ability to meet the physical and functional demands of the position on a regular basis, with or without reasonable accommodation.
