WHAT YOU GET TO DO
The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) Canada will serve as a key partner to HR Business Partners in Customer Service and Operations, providing strategic and hands-on support in all areas of human resources as relates to KNAPP’s Canadian population. This role is responsible for driving HR initiatives that align with business objectives, fostering a positive work environment, and ensuring compliance with company policies and employment laws.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities

Assist with the recruiting, hiring and onboarding of Canadian employees, including coordination with internal stakeholders and external partners as needed.

Act as a resource to Non-resident employees in Canada..

Provide Human Resources support including guidance on company policies, employment practices to both Canadian employees and managers.

Assist with and support Human Resources investigations and employee relations matters involving Canadian employees, escalating to Corporate HR or Legal as appropriate.

Act as a trusted advisor to employees and leaders, addressing concerns and resolving conflicts.

Ensure adherence to federal, provincial, and local employment laws, as well as company policies and procedures.

Work with other functions to research and resolve payroll issues, assist with benefits questions, and administer leaves of absence and worker’s compensation claims for Canadian population.

Promote a positive workplace culture through employee engagement initiatives, recognition programs, and feedback mechanisms.

Travel to sites to assist onboarding new employees. Lead orientation and support other departments’ activities related to onboarding/orientation for Canadian population.

Support leaders through performance review processes, coaching, and corrective action procedures.

Help coordinate training sessions on HR policies, compliance, and leadership development.

Assist with employee meetings, town halls, tool talks, etc. Ensure communications from Corporate are being shared effectively with onsite employees.

Maintain accurate employee records, process HR transactions, and support HRIS data integrity. Assist with timecard management.

Assist leadership with onsite induction trainings. Partner with Total Rewards to support employee wellness initiatives.

Assist Leadership and corporate HR team with offboarding procedures; including but not limited to termination conversations, exit interviews and equipment collection.
WHAT YOU HAVE

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field or equivalent mix of education and experience.

3+ years of HR generalist experience, preferably in a distribution, logistics, or manufacturing environment.

Knowledge of Canadian and Provincial employment laws and HR best practices, especially Quebec and Ontario.

Experience working in or with US companies and workforce preferred.

Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

Ability to present to and influence leadership.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HRIS systems (e.g., ADP, SAP, etc.).

Professional HR certification preferred.

Bilingual (English/French) required.

Experience supporting hourly workforce in a 24/7 operation highly preferred.
Working Conditions and Environment:

Authorization to work in the Canada and travel to the US

Passport holder or ability to obtain passport required

Professional office etiquette is required at all times

Overtime or off-shift hours may be required to support multiple shifts

Travel required up to 50% Travel to sites for recruiting, onboarding, and investigations and to US corporate office for training purposes and occasional meetings.

Physical requirements: sitting for long periods of time, standing, walking, climbing a ladder, speaking, visual acuity, finger dexterity, listening, reaching at arm’s length, and lifting up to 30 pounds.
