Job Summary
Catapulta Contracting Inc. is a well‑established general contracting company in Calgary specializing residential construction (including renovations) and commercial construction. Responsibilities
- Support residential and steel stud framing projects from layout through install.
- Measure, mark, and cut materials accurately; stage and organize materials.
- Install framing components: walls, doors, windows, backing/blocking, trusses, and sheathing.
- Operate hand/power tools: drills, impacts, saws, nailers, compressors, and lasers.
- Operate scissor lifts safely; assist with anchors, temporary bracing, basic demo, and minor repairs.
- Read and follow drawings/layout marks and foreman instructions; complete tasks to spec and on time.
- Maintain safe, clean, organized work areas; participate in daily safety talks and complete FLHAs.
- Load/unload deliveries, verify counts, reduce waste, and support basic QA/QC (plumb/level/square, fastener patterns, basic firestopping as directed).
- Work independently or with a crew; communicate clearly and respectfully.
Requirements
- 6 months–2+ years of construction experience (framing/steel stud/renovation preferred).
- Valid driver’s licence and reliable vehicle (in‑person work in Calgary, AB).
- Scissor Lift ticket (Aerial Work Platform) and Fall Arrest certification.
- Experience driving/operating a scissor lift on active job sites.
- WHMIS and CSTS certifications (or ability to obtain promptly).
- Basic tool kit: drill, pouch, hammer, tape (plus tape knife, square, pencil recommended).
- Physically fit: lift 50+ lbs, work at heights, and perform repetitive tasks safely.
- Strong work ethic, punctuality, and positive, safety‑first attitude.
- Eligible to work in Alberta and available full‑time.
Assets
- Ability to read and interpret building plans.
- First Aid certification.
- Additional tickets: Aerial Work Platform (Scissor/Boom), additional equipment experience (e.g., plate compactor).
- Renovation experience and coordination with multiple trades.
- Additional carpentry tools.
