We are seeking an experienced Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Contractor to provide professional guidance, oversight, and leadership for our health, safety, and environmental management systems. This role will ensure ONSITE3D remains compliant with applicable legislation, client requirements, industry standards, and best practices.
An internal administrative resource will support routine documentation and administrative activities, allowing the HSE Contractor to focus on compliance, risk management, training, auditing, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Position Summary
The HSE Contractor will serve as ONSITE3D's subject matter expert for health, safety, and environmental compliance. The successful candidate will evaluate existing programs, identify gaps, recommend improvements, support field operations, and help ensure the organization maintains a strong and proactive safety culture.
This role is ideal for an experienced safety professional who can operate independently and provide practical guidance to management and field personnel.
Key Responsibilities
Compliance & Program Oversight
- Ensure compliance with applicable provincial and federal occupational health and safety legislation.
- Evaluate and improve company HSE programs, policies, procedures, and standards.
- Identify compliance gaps and develop corrective action plans.
- Advise management on regulatory changes and emerging HSE requirements.
- Support COR certification and continuous improvement initiatives.
Auditing & Risk Management
- Conduct internal audits, site inspections, and compliance reviews.
- Evaluate field operations and identify opportunities for risk reduction.
- Review hazard assessments, safe work procedures, and operational controls.
- Monitor subcontractor and contractor compliance with company and client safety requirements.
- Recommend corrective and preventive actions.
Incident Investigation & Prevention
- Lead investigations involving incidents, near misses, property damage, and environmental events.
- Conduct root cause analyses and recommend corrective actions.
- Identify trends and opportunities to reduce workplace risks.
Training & Safety Leadership
- Deliver safety training, orientations, and awareness programs where specialized HSE expertise is required.
- Facilitate safety meetings and provide coaching to managers and field personnel.
- Promote a positive and accountable safety culture throughout the organization.
- Provide guidance to supervisors regarding hazard management and regulatory compliance.
Operational Support
- Support safe execution of:
- Laser scanning operations
- Drone/UAV missions
- Industrial site assessments
- Construction monitoring projects
- Work in active industrial and construction environments
- Participate in project planning to ensure appropriate risk controls are established before work begins.
- Assist project teams in addressing client-specific safety requirements.
Environmental Stewardship
- Provide guidance on environmental compliance and risk management.
- Support environmental protection and responsible field practices.
- Assist with environmental incident response and investigations when required.
Qualifications
Required
- Diploma, Degree, or Professional Certification in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Management, or related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of progressive HSE experience in construction, industrial, energy, engineering, or field services environments.
- Demonstrated experience conducting audits, inspections, and incident investigations.
- Strong working knowledge of applicable occupational health and safety legislation.
- Experience developing and improving safety management systems.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites as required.
Preferred
- Experience supporting industrial, infrastructure, surveying, engineering, reality capture, or technology-based field operations.
- Experience with COR-certified organizations.
- Familiarity with contractor compliance platforms such as ISNetworld, Avetta, ComplyWorks, and Cognibox.

Pay: $70.00-$100.00 per hour
