Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Registered Pharmacy Technician to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will support pharmacists in dispensing medications, providing patient care, and ensuring the smooth operation of pharmacy services. Duties
- Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing prescription medications accurately and efficiently
- Verify prescription information and ensure compliance with legal and safety standards
- Provide excellent patient care by answering questions and offering medication guidance under pharmacist supervision
- Manage inventory, including stock replenishment and proper storage of pharmaceuticals
- Maintain accurate records of medication dispensing and patient interactions
- Support medication administration processes in hospital settings as needed
- Follow all safety protocols, including proper handling of controlled substances and hazardous materials
- Ensure the pharmacy environment remains clean, organized, and compliant with health regulations
Skills
- Proven experience as a pharmacy technician, preferably within a hospital setting
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and medication administration procedures
- Excellent attention to detail to ensure accuracy in dispensing medications
- Compassionate patient care skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in fast-paced environments
- Familiarity with pharmacy software systems and inventory management tools
- Certification as a registered pharmacy technician is required or pending certification depending on state regulations
